Understanding Your Child's Learning. Supporting Their Next Bright Steps.

When your child struggles at school, knowing where to begin can feel overwhelming.

At Bright Steps Learning, we help families understand their child’s learning needs and take informed next steps. Founded by Eva San Martin, a Texas-certified Educational Diagnostician, Reading and Dyslexia Interventionist, and experienced educator, Bright Steps customizes learning to fit your child's needs.

Bright Steps Learning offers evaluations for dyslexia and other specific learning disabilities, individualized reading tutoring, and educational consultation. As Ms. Martin is fully bilingual, biliterate and bicultural in English and Spanish, Bright Steps also offers services in Spanish.

Understand Your Child’s Strengths and Learning Needs

Are you concerned about your child’s reading or academic progress? An individualized evaluation can help clarify strengths, identify areas of difficulty, and guide recommendations for support.

We offer:

  • Evaluations for dyslexia and other specific learning disabilities

  • Cognitive assessments to understand thinking, reasoning and learning abilities

  • Academic assessments to examine achievements in areas such as reading, writing and mathematics.

We review relevant background information and assessment results to help families understand their child’s learning profile and practical next steps.

Reading Intervention and Tutoring

Building Reading Skills & Confidence, One Step at a Time

Reading instruction should begin with what your child needs. We provide personalized, step-by-step lessons for students struggling with reading, including students with dyslexia.

Instruction focuses on:

  • Dyslexia intervention: targeted instruction in foundational reading and spelling skills.

  • Reading accuracy: recognizing and reading words correctly.

  • Reading fluency: developing smoother, more efficient reading with appropriate expression.

  • Reading comprehension: understanding, discussing, and making meaning from text.

We monitor progress and adjust instruction as skills develop. Our approach combines clear teaching, encouragement and regular communication with parents.
